Build a revision system you can actually follow
A practical way to turn scattered reading into a repeatable weekly routine.
Start with a small, clear target
Choose one topic for each study block. “Read polity” is too broad; “understand the difference between rights and duties” gives your session a finish line. Keep the target realistic for the time available.
Recall before you reread
Close the book and write what you remember in five bullet points. Then reopen it and correct the gaps. A page that feels familiar is not necessarily a page you can explain without help.
Keep a revision queue
At the end of each session, record the topic, the date and what needs another look. Revisit difficult material sooner and space out topics you can explain confidently. Adjust the intervals to your own recall rather than treating a fixed schedule as a rule.
Make your mistakes usable
Keep a short error log: question or concept, why you went wrong, and the corrected reasoning. Separate a knowledge gap from a careless reading error. Each needs a different fix.
Review the week
Use one weekly session to recall the week’s topics, revisit errors and set the next week’s priorities. Measure what you can explain and apply, not just how many hours you sat at a desk.
