Why I started UPSC Point
When you begin preparing, there is plenty of material around you. The harder task is deciding what deserves your attention and how to use it well.
A long set of notes may contain everything, yet leave you unsure of the central idea. A short explanation may be easy to read, yet leave important questions unanswered. And sometimes, after spending hours studying a topic, you still struggle to connect it to a question.
I wanted to create resources that help with these everyday difficulties.
My aim is to make UPSC Point a place where an aspirant can find an explanation that makes sense, a visual that helps an idea stay in memory, or a practice question that reveals what needs another reading.
I want each resource to have a clear purpose. You should know what it contains, whom it is meant for, and how it can fit into your preparation.
Understanding comes before remembering
A subject becomes easier to revise when you understand how its ideas fit together.
A constitutional provision becomes more meaningful when you understand the problem it addresses. A current-affairs development becomes useful when you can connect it to the syllabus. A wrong answer becomes valuable when its explanation helps you recognise the mistake.
This is the learning approach we want to bring to UPSC Point through clear notes, visual resources, current affairs, revision tools and practice material.
We want to help you spend more of your study time understanding, questioning and applying what you learn.
Explore syllabus-linked current affairs →For the days when preparation feels difficult
Some days, you will finish what you planned. On others, a single topic will take longer than expected. You may need to change a timetable, revisit the basics, or take a break before beginning again.
Give yourself room to do that.
An unfinished target is something you can review and adjust. A low practice score can show you where to focus. Asking for help can save you hours of confusion. These are ordinary parts of learning, even when they feel frustrating.
Be serious about your preparation, and be fair to yourself while doing it. Your health, your responsibilities and your circumstances matter too. Build a routine you can return to, including after a difficult week.
“Let today’s effort be something you can build on tomorrow.”
The trust we want to earn
I know that choosing a resource means investing your time, attention and, sometimes, your money. That deserves care.
Our commitment is to explain clearly, describe our resources honestly, acknowledge their limitations and listen when something needs improving. Questions and corrections should help make this platform better.
I won’t promise you a rank or a guaranteed result. What I want to build is a dependable source of study support—one that earns its place in your preparation through the usefulness of its work.
Your next step matters
You may be opening the syllabus for the first time. You may already have a study routine and need help with revision. You may be finding your way back after a break.
Wherever you are, begin with the next useful task: understand a topic, attempt a few questions, review an error, or make a realistic plan for tomorrow.
That is the spirit behind UPSC Point. It comes from someone who has been an aspirant and wants to create something worthwhile for others walking this path.
Thank you for making us a part of your preparation.
